§ 1162.01. Illegal use of electricity; information; posting.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to take electricity or in any way use electricity for private use which is furnished by the Division of Power, unless such person shall have first received permission from the Director of Public Utilities. Any person not employed by the city, or any ex-employees of the city, who furnishes information to the Division of Power of any such illegal use of electricity, may receive as his compensation for such information, not to exceed twenty-five (25) percent of any amount received by the Division of Power as a result of such information for such illegal use of electricity, and the amounts to be paid to such informant under twenty-five (25) percent, to be left to the discretion of the administrator of the Division of Power. The administrator is authorized to make such payments out of the amount so recovered.

    (b)

    The administrator of the Division of Power shall have printed and cause the same to be posted in as many public places in the city as he deems necessary, copies of (a) above.
