§ 1163.14. Space heating—heat storage service.

  • Availability:

    For residential consumers that own and operate heat storage facilities for purposes utilization of electric energy for space heating.

    Type of Service:

    Electric energy for heat storage will be supplied through a separately metered circuit at the same voltage and phase that is utilized to serve the balance of the consumer's electrical load.

    Rates:

    Customer Charge $ 7.00

     

    Energy Charge:

    On Peak $ .125495 per KWH
    Off Peak $ .010720 per KWH

     

    Seasonal Periods:

    The winter period shall be the billing months of October through May and the summer period shall be the billing months of June through September.

    Off-Peak Hours:

    Beginning with the effective date of this rate schedule, Off-Peak Hours for purposes of this schedule will be the hours between 7:00 p.m. of each day and 7:00 a.m. of the following day. The Off-Peak Hours are subject to change from time to time at the City's option.

    Power Cost Reserve Adjustment:

    The above schedule of charges shall be adjusted in accordance with the Power Cost Reserve Adjustment as set forth in this chapter. Minimum Charge:

    The minimum charge shall be the Customer Charge plus the Demand charge for each month of the winter season period. The heat storage circuit will be disconnected and there will be no minimum charge during the summer season period.

    Determination of Additional Load:

    Additional Load shall be the amount by which the total KW of load of all electrical facilities connected to the heat storage circuit exceeds the total KW load, based upon name-plate ratings of the consumer's refrigerated air conditioning equipment that will not be operated coincidentally with the heat storage service. At the option of the City, the KW load of such air conditioning equipment can be assumed to be the difference between the consumer's highest Measured Demand, for other than heat storage service, during the next preceding summer period and the highest Measured Demand of such other load during the billing months of December, January and February during the next preceding winter period, if less than the summer period demand.

    Term of Contract:

    The term of contract for service under this Schedule shall be no less than one year.
