§ 1905.02. Duties of police and fire surgeons.

  • It shall be the duty of the police and fire surgeons to answer all emergency calls and to give temporary medical and surgical attention and services to all members of the division of police for injury sustained or sickness incurred while in line of duty. It shall also be their duty within twenty-four hours, to interview all members of the division of police not reporting for duty on account of sickness or injury, and if such member is found to be unfit for duty by reason thereof to report him off duty and to make a reasonable and necessary investigation and examination from time to time, and as soon as such member has sufficiently recovered to report him for duty, serving one copy of notice on such member and filing the original thereof with the chief of the division of police, and in case of severe injury or extended sickness to file a report thereof with the chief of police.
