§ 115.06. Codification of ordinances.

  • The city clerk shall be the codifier of the general ordinances of the city. When an ordinance of a general or permanent nature is passed by the council and signed by the necessary officers, before it is recorded the city clerk shall examine such ordinance. If there is no sectional numbering in the ordinance, or such numbering is not in conformity with that of the Columbus City Codes, he shall give each section of the ordinance so passed its proper section or supplemental sectional number by writing or printing on the left-hand margin of the ordinance, and of the record thereof such proper number, and the number so designated by him shall be the official number. Such numbers so placed shall be published with such ordinances in the City Bulletin and with any other official publication of such ordinances. It shall be a sufficient reference to any section to refer to it by such official number, and all amendments to any section of the Columbus City Codes shall be referred to by such official number.
