  • There is created and established the Columbus occupational safety and health administration, to be known as COSHA, wherein the administration of the various safety programs for the city of Columbus will be administered in order to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for its employees, in accordance with State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act standards. The goals of COSHA are: (1) to prevent job-related injuries and illnesses through the enforcement of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) standards; and (2) to diminish costs in injury leave and related expenses to the city. COSHA will exist as a separate agency with a separate budget.
