§ 2327.06. Notification procedures for vicious animals.

  • (A)

    Upon receipt of a complaint alleging that an animal is a vicious animal, the health commissioner shall notify, in writing, the owner of the animal.

    (B)

    This notification shall state: the nature of the complaint; the date, time, and location of the hearing to be held before the animal review board; and the means of confinement for the animal pending the issuance of findings from the hearing.

    (C)

    Pending the hearing, the health commissioner or city veterinarian may determine suitable confinement appropriate for the animal and may cause the animal to be removed from the premises of its owner. All animals held in confinement shall be boarded and cared for at the expense of its owner.
