  • (a)

    Bulk Storage of Flammable Liquids.

    The bulk storage of oils, petroleum and similar flammable liquids shall be permitted in the M-2 manufacturing district only when in compliance with the existing regulations of the fire prevention bureau.

    (b)

    Open Storage of Materials.

    The open storage of materials other than junk, waste products, salvage or wrecked automobiles may be permitted in the M-2 manufacturing district when located at least 100 feet from any residential or apartment residential district and not in advance of the building setback line as herein established:

    (1)

    Major thoroughfare 80-foot right-of-way or greater setback line 200 feet from center line;

    (2)

    Secondary thoroughfare 50-foot to 80-foot right-of-way setback line 125 feet from center line; and

    (3)

    Not less than 25 feet from any other lot line except that the storage of livestock feed, coal and similar materials shall not be closer than 300 feet to any residential and apartment residential district and shall be handled so as to control dust effectively. All combustible material shall be stored in such a way, including, where necessary, access drives, so as to permit free access of fire-fighting equipment.

    Open or unenclosed storage of materials and equipment, except for automobiles or trucks used in the business or industry or by the employees thereof, shall be permitted only in the rear yard area.
