  • Permits issued under this chapter shall bear the name of the person(s) for whose benefit the solicitation(s) are to be made, the number of the permit, the date issued, the date the permit expires, and a statement that the permit does not constitute an endorsement by the City of Columbus or by any of its departments, officers, or employees for the purpose of conducting the solicitation.

Permit holders whose permit to solicit is about to expire may apply for a renewal permit at least thirty (30) days in advance of the current permit's date of expiration or a shorter amount of time with approval of the public safety director or their designee for good cause shown. A renewal permit shall begin on the date of expiration of the old permit. Permits issued shall be valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance.

Any other permits issued shall be valid only from the date of issuance until the date of expiration mandated by this section for each permit holder. The standards established in this chapter shall serve as guidance to the public safety director or their designee in issuing permits.
