§ 2327.12. Dog registration.

  • (A)

    No owner shall fail to register any dog pursuant to Revised Code Chapter 955.

    (B)

    No owner of a dog shall fail to require the dog to wear, at all times, a valid tag issued in connection with a certificate of registration. A dog's failure at any time to wear a valid tag shall be prima facie evidence of lack of registration and shall subject any dog found not wearing such tag to impoundment, sale or destruction.

    (C)

    Whoever violates this section is guilty of failing to register a dog, a minor misdemeanor. If the dog has previously been determined to be a nuisance animal or a dangerous animal a violation of this section is a misdemeanor of the second degree.

    (D)

    Strict liability is intended to be imposed for a violations of this section.
